Ms. Wilchins' dedication to children and families and her passion for ensuring appropriate education has been a lifelong commitment. Some of the services she provides as an advocate include:
Review all available documentation including written reports, evaluations, progress reports, report cards, student transcripts and all pertinent information for the purpose of accessing an appropriate education with or without a residential component.
Assist parents in understanding the Individual Education Plan (IEP).
Develop a strategy to access an appropriate public education or funding for an out-of-district placement.
Collaboration with school districts mental health agencies, attorneys and families throughout the State of Massachusetts, including representation at meetings.
Assist in special education proceedings at local and state levels.
Visitation to and guidance on perspective programs.
